I wanted to check if the phone number that I am using to phone the Maidstone branch of the above company for wholesale magazines and newspapers deliveries is the correct one, or if there is another 01/02 alternative available, please?
As you're the one who's using it, then why can't you answer the question?

The branch that I am interested in is the Maidstone branch.
The address is:-
Unit C
Larkfield Trading Estate
New Hythe Lane
Aylesford
ME20 6SW
Phone: 0845 200 8216
(this is a call centre only, and doesn't get you through to the branch
directly before 6am). After 6am, you are connected to the call centre only, and never to the branch.
Fax: 01622 714666
Now, unless someone else on here confirms otherwise, the phone number that I worked out from the fax number (and I do use this from time to time, but I get told - "where did you get this number from, you're not meant to have this number" blah, blah blah etc...) is:-
01622 714660
I do use 141 in front of it though.....
Any comments or thoughts, please - especially for those people who are looking for an alternative, and where 0845/0870 numbers are not inclusive in their BT phone packages, or they are not with BT.
I think you've answered your own question!!
You say that the 0845 number goes through to the central call centre and that you are looking for an alternative for the 0845 number. So you are looking for a number for the central call centre. So why did you call the branch number? Perhaps the response you got on the 01622 714660 number is because no customers are to call it.
If the 0845 number goes through to the central call centre, then it's reasonable to assume that the 0845 numbers for other branches do the same. The database contains alternatives (beginning 020 7998) which are
alternatives to respective 0845 numbers, as opposed to direct branch numbers. So from what you say, I would call one of them.
