Prudential Breakdown Assistance Line
Apr 21st, 2010 at 4:42pm

Does anyone out there have a landline number for Prudential Breakdown Services which I have just joined, they only give an 0800 032 4166 number. Generally when you ring breakdown you only have a mobile which is very expensive so a standard number would be really helpful

Many thanks

For 0800 numbers, you can use a geographic dialthrough number to get inclusive calls to 0800 numbers. Use a website like www.0800buster.co.uk to obtain a geographic number, call it from your mobile and then enter the 0800 number at the prompt.

In addition to jgxenite's good advice for calling freephone numbers from your mobile, I would like to advise you that, should we find a suitable alternative, that you will be best advised to always carry the 0800 number with you just in case the alternative doesn't work should you need to ring.

The first question is, what company provides the breakdown cover? I put the 0800 number into Google and the first link was the policy document from the Pru.

This identifies the provider as being Green Flag. The alternative request thread for Green Flag is here. On it, the numbers 01274 658073 and 0113 390 4000 were suggested. The latter is verified as an alternative for Green Flag Breakdown, but it is in fact the main switchboard and it is therefore only of use during office hours.

If you search the database for
green flag
you will see a number of entries, including 01274 658074, which is one digit after one I gave above. Perhaps others in that range may be useful as well.

Whatever you do, please let us known how you get on; what you try, what works and what doesn't as it will help us list numbers for others to use.
