POhWER - ICAS - Basildon..
May 10th, 2010 at 8:14am

Hi,

POhWER is an independent advocacy agency.
I'm looking for a geo number for POWHER ICAS
This is the number given to me by the person I am dealing with there - 0845 456 1083
The below info is from their website:  http://www.pohwer.net/

Essex ICAS
POhWER
Ground Floor
7 Lords Court
Cricketers Way
Basildon
Essex
SS13 1SS
Tel: 0300 456 2370                  Just spoke to BT, and was told 0300 numbers are 5p per minute
I actually thought 0300 was free, glad I rung BT first.

Thanks,
Smiley

The person you spoke to at BT clearly has no idea. If you have inclusive minutes, then 03 numbers are included in those minutes. If not, then they are charged at whatever your geographic rate is. If this isn't the case, you need to report BT to Ofcom as they are breaching the rules of charges for 03 numbers.

Hello smileeyes...

This is Ofcoms official explanation of 03 Numbers: Here

And this is from BT's Unlimited Calling Plan: (A link for which is Here

* Unlimited UK landline calls are for up to an hour to numbers beginning 01, 02 & 03, after which pence-per-minute rates apply. You can hang up and redial before the end to avoid charges. There are exceptions like calls to the Channel Islands. See our terms and conditions for details.

I hope that explains that all..... basically it should be included in any mins plan you have.

In response to your original query, checking their website, it looks like they've directly transferred all 0845 numbers over to 0300 numbers. Therefore, the person you wish to contact should be using the number 0300 456 1083. Please try it and let us know if it works.

The cost depends on which Calling Plan or 'option' you are on. I am assuming that you are on a Calling Plan and not one of BT's other tariffs.

If you are calling at a time when your 01/02 calls are inclusive, then so too and 03 ones and 0845 ones as well.

If you are calling during the weekday daytime on BT Evening & Weekend or BT Weekend (options 2 and 1 respectively), then you will be charged. The cost for 01/02/03 numbers during that period is 5.9 pence per minute whereas the call rate for 0845 calls is 2 pence per minute. Both these also incur a 9.9 pence call set-up fee.

Incidently, we discussed POhWER's number change last month here.
