11 June 2010 - New number for Council Tax and housing benefit calls

Callers contacting the Council with housing benefit and Council Tax queries will need to dial a new number from 1 July.

The 0845 code is changing, so customers will need to call 0345 302 2317 instead.

Calls to the new number are charged at the same rate as calls to landline numbers beginning 01 and 02, so calling the new 0345 number will be cheaper than calls to the old 0845 number

Callers should check with their phone provider for exact costs.
