you get a automated messaging saying number changed to 0844 892 4000
Thanks; I've removed this entry.
A search of the HM Courts Service's website for the 0844 telephone number reveals that it is now the main number for a number of County Courts in the south east area of England:
- Basildon
- Bury St Edmunds
- Cambridge
- Chelmsford
- Colchester
- Harlow
- Ipswich
- King's Lynn
- Lowestoft
- Norwich
- Peterborough
- Southend
A centralised helpdesk exists for
Bedford, Hitchin, St Albans and other nearby County Courts, also on a similar 0844 number.
uk26 says that calls are put through to Norwich and the pages I have found for the courts on this 0844 892 4000 number give an e-mail address which contains "norwich". So all signs point to it being answered in Norwich, probably at the County Court there.
Norwich is a combined court with crown and county courts on one site. The Crown Court general switchboard number is 01603 728200 with direct contacts in the 01603 7282xx range.
I have run some internet searches and have not found any clues as to what the direct numbers may be at Southend County Court; unless they are around the old phone or fax numbers; 601991 and 603090.
