Hello all

I'm a newbie, compelled to join after I realised I was paying £2 for calls to my doctor to simply book an appointment grrrrr. Does anyone have a geographical number for Tramways Medical Centre in Sheffield? I am interested in the 54 Holme Lane Practice (Morley, Bradley etc) rather than the 54a practice next door (Poyser) (which is also an 0845 convert).

Their advertised number is: 08451266411. The old number was 01142343418 but that no longer works. The current fax number is 0114 2855958. They give a geo number for ordering prescriptions only (01142855311). Doing a bit of digging I found a number listed online for a Minor Surgery Clinic with one of its doctors based at Tramways.

And I successfully booked appointments using this number (01142854766) a couple of times. But last time I rang up the receptionist said the number was reserved for emergency bookings only and said I should ring the 0845 number in future. She also asked me where I had got the number from. It seems strange to me that they should be using the same landline number to take private bookings of one doctor while also reserving it for emergency appointments. Also, how would anybody know to call this number for an emergency appointment when they do not advertise it or list it on their website? Any info/ideas/comments would be very welcome!
