HSBC security number line (Read 27,859 times)

donf Newbie Offline Posts: 5	HSBC security number line Sep 19^th, 2010 at 12:25pm Hi, Today, 19th September, I used the saynoto0870 search for an alternative to 08457 400 004 (the HSBC banking security number service) which revealed 0114 203 1106. But when I called the 0114 number I got "the number you have dialed has not been recognised". Does anyone have a current alternative? Regards Donf

I thought the reference to "security" was to do with fraud protection. However, this contact page gives:

The original number was provided in an HSBC letter to my son giving him instructions on how to get online. Earlier today he had to use the 0845 number anyway to do a transaction. However, the Internet banking number you have found is just as relevant and I have written it on the letter as the alternative to the 0845 number.
