Next Directory (Online Orders)

Just want to let you know that when I wanted to phone Next to discuss and place an order,
I checked the database: http://saynoto0870.com/companysearch.php
and I would like to advise you that I found 2 listed numbers that have been discontinued:
0800 3890458 and 0800 616370

I managed to get through on the 0800 478478 number.

This isn't online orders specifically, but I've just added 0800 093 6936 for Next Retail. It gives a menu with every kind of option. For one thing, it's useful if you need to ring a store for which you can't find the 01-/02- number - I followed the menu prompts to "retail", then "customer services", and a helpful lady was very happy to put me through (to Next Newcastle upon Tyne, Northumberland St).

The numbers I tried from the database seemed to be exclusively for Next Directory, and agents insisted upon a name and customer number.

Afraid I can't find the site I discovered this number on. I see that the number has also been mentioned here http://www.saynoto0870.com/cgi-bin/forum/YaBB.cgi?num=1166796614#3 (for the head office in Leicester) though it wasn't in the database.

Hope you don't mind me bumping this thread. It's my first post Cheesy

I've tidied up the entries for Next (both Next Directory and Next Retail).

I guess that the 0800 093 6936 number is for internal use as it has options for HR. It seems as though rip-off 0844 number is good enough for customers, but not within the company!

In the unverified listing, I found 0116 284 5300, which goes straight through to an agent.

Also unverified was an entry for Colchester Tollgate Home Store with 0116 284 4675 as the alternative. Numbers at head office (in Leicester) we have are 0116 284 xxxx, so this isn't a local geographic number (01206).

However, that doesn't mean it's not a suitable alternative. I suspect that this and others nearby may be IVRs (menus) for the stores. For example:

284 4670 options: 1. Home 2. Office
284 4675 options: 1. Home 2. Office
284 4676 options: 1. Womenswear 2. Menswear 3. Childrenswear 4. Home 5. Office
284 4690 options: 1. Womenswear 2. Menswear 3. Childrenswear 4. Home 5. Office
284 4699 options: 1. Home 5. Office

284 4669 and 4700 are not recognised and may indicate where the beginning and end of this block is. Someone might like to investigate these numbers that are in service as they don't identify which stores they are for.

Another entry gave 284 6891 as being for Sutton, St Nicholas Centre, although this rings out and is not answered by an IVR.

It would be helpful if you could tell us which numbers these are so that we can ensure they aren't listed for anything other than what they can be used for.

On a more general note, thanks again for the feedback and do post again (in the Requests section) about other entries you find which require attention. This includes:

unverified entries that work and can therefore be verified
numbers that no longer work (say in what way they don't work, eg not recognised, ring unanswered, wrong department)
entries where the 08 number has changed (or is in addition to one already listed)

I've just used this number to speak to someone about a Next Gift Card which is over 2 years old. I selected the option for Gift Cards (option 5) and I had a wait of 5 or 10 minutes.

The gentleman confirmed that the value on the card is that which was credited when it was first purchased. He also said that they run indefinitely and don't expire after 24 months (which what it says in the terms and conditions on the card).

well here I am 7 months since my post, and I'm pleasantly surprised to find that the 'rip off merchants' haven't yet scrapped an 0800 number!

The link you've provided is the generic search results one and doesn't bring up the results you saw when you copied it.

I've searched by telephone number 0800 478478 and all three entries do not suggest that it is a number for the switchboard.

Perhaps you can copy and paste the entry you are referring to into this thread.
