Webfusion, 123-reg.co.uk & Donhost

Can anyone help with a land line for this bunch please? Unfortunate, the numbers on the main saynoto0870 database are way out of date, and I'm fed up with paying to listen to their hold messages asking me to spend money with them when I want to ask a support question!

Hello and welcome to SAYNOTO0870.COM.

Firstly, please take some time to read the instructions for posting a request which suggests basic information to provide, such as address, web address, 08 number(s) etc.

I have done some spadework to uncover basic information. Firstly, there was one entry (verified) in the database:

WebFusion       0871 230 9525       0845 130 6965       01782 605800       0800 0317800       Various Customer service options

The 01782 605800 number is now not recognised. The 0800 number is published on all pages of Webfusion's website for the sales department. It's web address is www.webfusion.co.uk

The 0845 130 6965 number is answered with an IVR (menu) which identifies it as being "Pipex SME Hosting". The options are for different hosts:

1. Donhost - This company is based in Doncaster and we have a thread looking for an alternative which we have yet to track down. There are presently no entries in the database for this company. Donhost's website says it's part of Webfusion.

2. SupaNames - I have been unable to find more about this company as its website is inaccessible.

3. Webfusion

4. 123-reg - There is a request thread for this company. It is apparently part of Pipex (part of TalkTalk and previously part of Tiscali UK before it was bought out by TalkTalk).

5. All other enquiries (specifically not technical support). Open from 9am to 9pm.

A look at Webfusion's corporate website confirms suspicions that these web hosts are all part of Webfusion. Crack one and we may crack them all...

It's registered office is at:

Webfusion Ltd
5 Roundwood Avenue
Stockley Park
Uxbridge
UB11 1FF

Perhaps, as a customer, the OP can shed some light on this. Is this the address where Webfusion operates from?

Also, what is the connection with Pipex? The clues for this being 123-reg and the 0845 number which identifies itself as the said company. I also came across this posting I made in June 2008 which also refers to Webfusion in context of alternatives for Tiscali/Pipex. Huh Huh

My apologies for not reading the T&C's. I'll try harder next time.

With regard to Webfusion, I can't help a great deal. I was/am a customer because they bought my hosts XCalibre. I know of no connection with Pipex, though I too was a customer of theirs many moons ago. It is interesting that 123-Reg is part of TalkTalk, because that is news too. Webfusion do all their domain sales and management through 123-Reg.

I agree the 0800 0317800 is published all over their website, but it will only deal with Sales issues. The saynoto0870 database (used to) states "Various technical issues", and that needed updating.

I believe the address you have posted is correct.

Webfusion themselves are overwhelmed at the moment (I assume) with dealing with the takeover and merging of the XCalibre business. Their support pages are a mish-mash of both company's. One hopes that the ticketing system will improve when they finally get things sorted.

I continued on the 123-reg lead and found these entries (all unverified) in the database:
123-reg.co.uk       0871 230 9525             01782 605399             Also: 020 85877558   p/o GX Networks   Also for: 0870 1630796

123-reg.co.uk       0871 230 9525             020 8587 7558             They prefer you to use 123-support.co.uk - but they are terrible at helping you sort things out. Phoning them always yields better results.

123-reg.co.uk             0845 859 0018       020 8587 7558

Web Fusion       0871 230 9525                         You have two 01782 numbers against this company (Also, the company 123-Reg) but these no longer work. The 020 number does work though,.

The number 01782 605399 is not recognised. It is also remarkably close to the former number for Webfusion. There is also clue that 123-reg is part of GX Networks.

I came across this posting from March 2008 on 123-reg's blog:
Quote:
Pipex Communications changes its name to GX Networks

As you might know, 123-reg  has a parent company. Until earlier this week, the parent company was called Pipex Communications Ltd. However, on Tuesday it changed its name to GX Networks.

The reason the name has changed is that Pipex Broadband, which also used to be a part of our company, was sold to Tiscali last year.

Things are starting to come together now. It appears that 123-reg is part of Webfusion which was formally known as GX Networks. I'm still not sure whether it's connected with Pipex (for example, if support is provided by it) or if this is of relevance here.

The number 020 8587 7558 is a useful lead. It is answered with an IVR which identifies it as being 123-reg. The options are:

1. Sales and product enquiries
2. System status updates
3. Technical support
4. Invoice and account queries
5. Hear options again

The options are identical to that on Webfusion's 0845 130 1602 number. I think we could be getting warm...

Indeed, digging further around the 020 number reveals:

7500 Webfusion menu (same as 0845 130 1602)
7550 Pipex Hosting (no options - says call will be answered as soon as possible and goes to hold music)
7551 hold music
7552 as 7550
7553 as 7550
7554 as 7550
7555 as 7550
7556 as 7500
7557 recording (doesn't identify company name) redirecting to 0871 230 9525
7558 123 menu (same as 0871 230 9525 and 0845 859 0018)
7559 as 7550
7560 as 7550

I have listed these alternatives in the database as verified.

If anyone knows of any other 08 numbers operated by this company, then please post them. Alternatives to those may be nearby.

Fantastic, really good stuff - I'm indebted to you.

I'll do some digging to see if I can find any connection with Pipex > Webfusion. If I find anything (that you don't already know) I'll post it.

Thanks again.

There is the possibility that those numbers I found which answer as Pipex Hosting are remnants of its former branding and are no longer used for receiving calls (via 08 numbers, naturally).

Pipex Hosting is now Webfusion. In fact, as it says in the quote I posted, Pipex Hosting became GX Networks which is now Webfusion.

The Pipex brand lives on as an ISP (Pipex Broadband) and phone provider (Pipex Homecall), which was owned by Tiscali UK, which has since been sold to TalkTalk and renamed (Tiscali has been renamed, Pipex has not).

Sad news! The listed 020 8587 7558 number for contacting 123-Reg without using their 0845 number has been taken out of service by the company. Does anyone have an alternative?

I have joined this posting to the existing one for 123-reg.co.uk. It is part of Webfusion, as is Donhost.

As you can see, we covered this one 18 months ago and it was found that the Company uses numbers in the 020 8587 75xx range.

On the basis that 020 8587 7574 still has Webfusion's sales IVR (menu) which is the same as is on the published 0800 031 7800 number, I would suggest that the new 123-reg alternative may be nearby. Interestingly, the IVR on 7574 may answer the same, but when an option is selected, it goes to silence, whereas the options on the 0800 have ringing on. Note that even though the number has an option for technical support, it just redirects to the 0845 130 1602 number.

I was going to suggest that someone might like to do some digging if we are to list an alternative to 123-reg's 0845 859 0018 number. However, when I last visited this one I found that 020 8587 7591 was for it and it turns out that this still has the same 123-reg IVR on as its 0845 counterpart.

Due to the fact that we no longer have alternatives for Webfusion (0845 130 1602) and Donhost (0845 859 0019), I have listed the 7591 123-reg number with a note to say that it is as such and that it is the same company.

The above 7591 number now produces an unobtainable tone. Seems they have cut off all sources  Sad

Thanks for posting this. I've removed the numbers I found the other week and replaced them with "unknown" and a note to say that the alternatives were disabled within days of publication by this site and a link to this thread.

It's been almost a year since we last visited this one and in that time some new numbers have been submitted which have allowed working numbers for Webfusion, 123-reg and Donhost to be found.

Alternatives are:
  • Webfusion - Menu options: 0845 450 2580, 0845 130 1602, 0113 212 3636/7

  • Webfusion - Sales (as option 1 on menu): 0113 212 3190-2, 0808 168 1200, 0800 031 7800, 0808 252 3731

  • Webfusion - Customer relationship team: 0845 241 0474, 0113 212 3187

  • 123-reg.co.uk: 0845 450 2310, 0845 859 0018, 0113 212 3182 /3183 /3193

  • Donhost - Menu options: 0845 241 0473, 0845 450 2890, 0845 226 5566, 0845 859 0019, 0113 212 3184

  • Donhost - Sales: same as Webfusion Sales

Others I found for which we don't have a 08 number for are (all 0113 212 31xx):
  • 81 Credit control team

  • 88/89 Customer relationship team - not same as 87

Please let us know the 08 number if you know it so we can add it to the listings.

I contacted 123-reg this week on 0845 450 2310.

They called me back (twice) with a CLI of 020 8061 1599, but ringing that number just gives an automated system asking you to enter an extension number, and after three incorrect attempts it hangs up.

Hello and welcome to SayNoTo0870.com.

Having tried them, it would appear that 0113 212 3182 /3183 /3193 are alternatives to the 0845 450 2310 number as they all go through to exactly the same menu.
