It is extremely doubtful that anyone else knows the number other than the surgery and its telephone provider, neither of which is going to give it out. However, it quite possible that we could sleuth our way to it.

Have a look at the posting I made previously which gives some idea of what we're looking for. This kind of information could be on the internet or about the surgery somewhere, maybe on a noticeboard or on someone's desk.

Does the surgery have a website? I cannot find one; all I can get is its page on NHS' website:

Do you know what the fax number is for the surgery?

Unfortunately this is a digit short, so we will need to work out which digit it is and what it is.

Dear all,

As Manager of Community Health Centre, i am pleased to inform users that the new number of our Surgery is now 0116 2622946. We have now moved from our old 08444 number and entries in 192.com and other places have changed acoordingly.

Inadvertant calls to 08444 will have the new 0116 number announcement.

Can i kindly request that users who used to call the other 0116 number refrain from doing so. This number is soley used for Hospital and NHS providers, and may be used for emergencies from these organisations. We have never advocated this number be used for patients.

It is not clinically safe for patients to be "sharing" this number with NHS organisations when they have a 0116 number dedicated to themselves.

May I firstly congratulate you for changing the number back to an 01 number, and for coming here and telling us all about it.

It's a step in the right direction..

I am sure anyone being advised by the surgery or visiting the website will be informed.

Perhaps we can add the new number to the Database?

Hello and welcome to SayNoTo0870.com.

This is excellent news and I have now added an entry to our database which gives the new 0116 number. In there I've put a note to say that the 0116 number has replaced the 0844 one so as to make it clear that this isn't an alternative but that the old number has been discontinued.
