Security Guarding Services Ltd
Cotford Investigation & Security Services Ltd

Two entries on Hotfrog link these companies:

  This gives the address at Ergo Business Park (home to Support Services Group) and 0845 8732630 telephone number (which is the one found on SSG's website). It gives the web address as www.astutesecurity.co.uk which forwards to www.ssg-net.com
• http://www.hotfrog.co.uk/Companies/Cotford-Investigations-Security-Services
  This one gives Cotford Investigations & Security Services at Kestral House with phone number 0870 6091475 and website www.astutesecurity.co.uk Strange thing is that some pages give this 0870 number for Matthew Bells, Matthew Bells, 35-37 Brent Street, Barnet, London NW4 2EF

So it would appear that there's definately a connection between all these companies and there is the possibility that the 0844 number quoted in the OP is answered at somewhere other than the Swindon address.

Not sure where this leaves us. Apart from to say that it would appear that this company has its 01/02 numbers well and truly hidden and only publishes 08 numbers.  

ok, its good move to remove that residential phone number.
I am deeply impressed by your valueable research. There is one more clue, we never get straight away answer from their 0844 number, we always leave a voice mail and then in 24 hours , we get reply back, there is one more address related to this company where they advice to send expense forms, that is
