Please does anyone have the number for GWENT OUT OF HOURS GP SERVICE 0845 6001231
My daughter suffers numerous septic tonsilitis bouts, and i am disabled, we use this service often, you are kept on the phone for a good while before a human voice comes on . this is costing me a fortune!!!
PLEASE anyone know the altenative number i would be so grateful.

Hello and welcome to SAYNOTO0870.COM.

The first question to ask when looking for an alternative is usually is where are calls answered? I have set out some guidance instructions on this.

As for answering the question, I found this newspaper article which says:

Gwent's five LHBs - Newport, Torfaen, Blaenau Gwent, Caerphilly and Monmouthshire - have joined forces to fund a Gwent-wide out-of-hours service to be provided by Gwent Healthcare Trust.

It dates back to 2004, but the 0845 number is still the same, so it may well hold good that it is Gwent Healthcare Trust that answers calls to it.

Wikipedia says that it was abolished in 2009 and Aneurin Bevan Local Health Board took over functions and its website is here.
