Delta Force Paintball
Aug 10th, 2011 at 4:02pm

Does anyone have an alternative number for Delta Force Paintball, ideally the Hemel Hempstead/Bourne End site - there is a number in the Database - 01483 211194 but I have tried this at different times over the past three days and it just rings without any answer.
Sadly the only alternative at the moment is to use their 0844 477 5050 number and pay 5.1p per minute and a 12.5p set up charge, grrrr!!

Where the 01483 number goes, I do not know, but dialling the 0844 number you get machine answered straight away!

The Delta Force Paintball contact page gives the telephone number in full: 0844 477 5050.

It also gives the address:

Delta Force Paintball, The Courtyard, Tithebarns Farm, Tithebarns Lane, Woking, Surrey, GU23 7LE

It also states "BlueC 77 Paintballing. Delta Force Paintball and related Delta Force trademarks property of BlueC 77 Paintballing."

A look back at this website on the Wayback Machine reveals that the 01483 211194 number was the one used prior to switching to the 0844 one.

Some webpages give the fax number as 01483 224260.

The only geographic numbers I can find are the 01483 phone and fax numbers. They also use 0844 477 5020 which is promoted for fundraising.

You can request a call back via the website.

Yes, its very frustrating - I guess they must have a landline to divert the 0844 calls to, but if it is the 01483 number it is very clever, as I said, calls to the 01483 number just ring and are never answered, yet a call to the 0844 number got answered by a machine within a couple of rings!

I tried the call back today at about 10 this morning - requesting a call back , I got called at 7.20 pm!!!

I also came across 0844 477 5012 which is answered as "The Paintball Centre" and 0844 477 5100 which rings unanswered. I guess that they might have a number of 01 numbers. The base is a farm.

Hi there!

If you had ACR ( Anonymous Caller Rejection ) in operation, they would have had to reveal a number, even if it was a switchboard number I think.

Interesting - any idea if that is a free or cost option with BT and any idea about how you get it?

Hi!

ACR is an option with BT that does cost, however if an the Police or any other emergency service tries to call you, they will not not.  It will stop large companies who phone you with a "With held number" because again I am of the opinion they have got to reveal a number.

The link you gave does not seem to have details about ACR, but by searching I found this - together with details of how to set it up on your phone, but there are some potential downsides.

What is Anonymous Call Rejection and how do I use it?

Anonymous Call Rejection lets you stop calls from people who have withheld their number. If a caller withholds their number so that you can’t tell what number they called from, they won’t be able to get through to you. They’ll only get through if they reveal their number.

What are the potential security and safety concerns with Anonymous Call Rejection?

Many public services such as the police force, the DSS, hospitals, fire brigades and public utilities will not be able to contact customers who use Anonymous Call Rejection.

This is due to the configuration of their private switchboards. This problem will also affect many UK businesses. Discussions are underway to find a solution for these problems.

Large companies can dial 1470 ( to release their number ) then 9 ( for an outside number ) then the subscribers number.

They can where their telephone systems are setup to do so. There must also be no company policy in place which decrees that all calls be number withheld. That said some present 08 CLIs which gets around ACR.

It may be the case that companies are not in a position to receive calls and do not wish to be.

Furthermore, presenting main a switchboard number or team (hunt group) number means that any call back will be to someone who may not know the reason for the call and/or may be unable to help, which just wastes the time of the caller and the receiver.

So the question of CLI presentations by corporate bodies is not as straight-forward as on our own personal mobile and residential landline phones.

Hello and welcome to SAYNOTO0870.COM. Thanks for posting this feedback on your experience. I have removed the entry for this company.

We covered Delta Force Paintball only a couple of months ago and I've joined your posting to that thread.

For the record, the two numbers alluded to are posted above in the OP and reply #1 from myself.

It would appear that these were used by Delta Force prior to the introduction of the 0844 number. I suggest that they might have either since been forfeited by this company and re-allocated to someone else or that they still belong to its owners. If it's the latter, then maybe they previously ran the business from home or used the home number and have since got another for the business whilst keeping the home one for private use.
