Hi blutak
Have a look on moneysaving expert forum - AA Renewal - beware of auto renewal -
you will see posts that they have many times taken the money and the auto renewal ' we are taking £ ----- ' arrive AFTER they have taken money even after you have cancelled then when they Refund they remove £20 admin and you will have to fight to get that back even if you Cancelled well before Renewal Date.
I have cancelled my single payment D/D already and told the Bank to refuse any attempts of AA to take money from my Account and that I hold them solely responsible if any goes out.
I also am still a Member until 8 Feb 2012 but will be Officially Canceling Membership 2 Jan 12 so they cant say didnt know.
After I cancelled my D/D at Bank I got a letter from AA saying the Bank had told them D/D removed so they cant say they didnt know - I think I have got them by the short and ---- but will still be watching, also a year later they will try again according to some posts on that forum even taking it with Insurance account details if Membership D/D closed.
It is even worse if you paid renewal on a CC, because you cant stop it only AA can cancel it - its on their posts.
It will open your eyes to the Auto Renewal scam on there with so many having fallen foul of this.
the AA Rep on there at first tells you to phone Cancellations on 0844 ------ but will give an 01 number later when I told them I dont phone 0844 - many have advised writing with recorded delivery
Good Luck and will keep fingers crossed for both of us.
