I Googled the number 01454 643422 to see how it is connected to this company as it is near Bristol whereas the UK address for Blue Insurances is Cardiff. It is given as the medical screening number on a number of websites and identified as apparently belonging to "Health Check". The number before it is given for emergency assistance.

There are ("were" now as I've removed them) two unverified entries in our database with the same alternative, 029 2046 8793, which is a Cardiff number. They are given for GreatCover.com and Multitrip.com. It answers as "The emergency medical assistance service". I tried nearby numbers including 2046 8790 which says it is "Global Response".

I came across Global Response Limited which is based in Cardiff (although not at the above address) and it says that it specialises in "emergency medical assistance and logistical support to travel insurance policy holders".


I called the main number for Multitrip.com which is 0844 871 6181 which is different to the medical screening number quoted above. It is answered by an Irish lady which got me thinking that this might be answered in Dublin.

Blue Insurances uses 0818 numbers in Ireland which are roughly the equivalent of UK 0844 numbers. However, this page of the Irish website gives geographic telephone number 01 247 8925 which is answered by a recording by the same female lady as on the Multitrip.com 0844 number!

I then tried subsequent numbers and found that they belong to the various websites operated by Blue Insurances, including Multitrip.com. Alternatives for customer services and general enquiries are as follows:

Claims (and medical screening) seems to be dealt with by outside companies and which the company varies depending on the policy.

• The emergency breakdown number for CovermyBreakdown.co.uk is answered by MAPFRE ASSISTANCE Agency and can be reached on 0800 039 3300 or +353 91 501611. This alternative is given in the policy document as an alternative for outside the UK but is answered exactly the same as the 0800 number.
   
• GreatCover.com policy document gives geographic numbers for medical screening (it refers to this as "Health Check") 01454 642422, emergency assistance (referred to as "MAPFRE Assistance") 01454 643421 and "MAPFRE Assistance Travel Claims" 01454 643420.
