lincsloon, the local dialling code for this company is 01789. I have Googled around with various terms and this code and come up with nothing.

It's possible that due to the fact that this is a new company, or at least new at this address, that the 01789 number has never been published.

If you do find it out, please post it on this thread and I will add it to the listings.  Smiley

A link was provided to a website that lists companies and their directors. When a name is selected, it returns a list of companies associated with people of a particular name. It clearly states that they are not necessarily the same person and could be different people with the same name:

The following companies were found with a director or company secretary named '<name>'. This does not imply that this is the same person. There may be a number of people with this name.

I am Krissy, the Director of Bright Assessing and myself and my fellow two directors are not the directors of 20 other companies. Please get your facts straight before posting comments such as these.
Your data regarding the company and our contact details is also over 3 years out of date!
Bright assessing are an award winning highly ethical training provider and we are more than happy to call people back if they ask us to and I am more than happy to provide our direct line. In future I would suggest asking us directly for our direct phone number and contact details rather than posting on a forum, firstly because you are guarenteed the the correct, most up to date and factual information and secondly you will receive the information alot quicker! We have nothing to hide and everything to be proud of!!!!

Our address is: 4, Arrow Court, Adams Way, Alcester, Warwickshire, B49 6PU
Direct line for those who dont want to call the 0845 number is: 01789 868575

The use of 0845 numbering hardly reinforces any ethical credentials that your institution may possess. If organizations publish these types of numbers, and after having a brief look at your website, I see no evidence of a fair and equitable ethical phone number, then those of us who dislike being ripped off will do whatever research we can to circumvent scam numbering. Why pay 40p per minute from some providers when you can pay next to nowt?

Ditch the 0845 - your clients will welcome it.

Hello and welcome to SayNoTo0870.

I reviewed the link provided by a very nice man and on pages that list multiple companies connected with a single name, there is a note explaining that the results do not imply that it is the same person; it may be multiple persons with the same name (connected with different companies). I have removed the link and edited the posting accordingly.

The Sunderland address posted by a very nice man is simply copied from elsewhere, the source being Whois brightassessing.com. The very same address is still given today.

An incorrect or out-of-date address on a whois could mean correspondence about a domain name not reaching the registrant. The worst consequence that could ensue is the cancellation of the domain.

ICANN says "At least annually, a registrar must present to the registrant the current Whois information, and remind the registrant that provision of false Whois information can be grounds for cancellation of their domain name registration."

I would have thought that every company would value its domain name such that it would endeavour not to risk cancellation. Where this happens, customers will no longer be able to view the company's website and those who it corresponds will no longer be able to e-mail. Retention of a domain name is as important as provision of a current physical (postal) address, if not more so.

At the end of the day, no one is bound to do business with you.

This forum exists so members can discuss alternative phone numbers that they are looking for. If an alternative is not found, they may go elsewhere. Indeed, they may go elsewhere simply because a company provides a 0845 number.

If Bright Assessing really wishes to be perceived as ethical, then the first thing it should do is cease use of the 0845 number and publish a 01/02/03 number instead.

I dont know where you are getting your address details from but it is obviously incorrect and or/ out of date, we have never ever been based at Sunderland.  If you want the correct information about us then go to companies house, a government site not some dodgy website called "a very nice man", or "who is brightassessing.com" neither of which have anything to do with our company, these are dodgy sites that list info on what you are searching to get hits and which obviously provide the wrong information anyway.
For the record we do not make 40p a minute on our number we make 0p a minute.  I have published our direct number and it makes no odds to us which nunmber you call, and we will even call you back.

I have provided a link to the source information. Every domain name has a "Whois"; this being the registration information.

Example domain names are saynoto0870.com, google.co.uk and brightassessing.com. Thus, "Whois brightassessing.com" is a look-up of the registration information for that address. The Sunderland address is the registered address of the domain brightassessing.com. As this is your company's domain name, please don't come out with the tosh that it has nothing to do with the company. Perhaps you need to speak to the person within your company that deals with the registration of your domain name. They will be able to explain what the Whois is and why this address is recorded on it.

No one here has suggested that the company is or has ever been based at the Sunderland address. a very nice man quite clearly quoted it as being sourced from the Whois record.

No one has suggested that you "make" 40 pence per minute. The cost to ring your number can be up to 40 pence per minute.

All users of 0845 numbers benefit from a sudsidy from callers of around 1.5 pence per minute and this is by design. The current Ofcom consultation proposes that all users of 084 numbers declare their Service Charge which is what this is.

Any revenue that users of 084 numbers are paid by their provider comes from the Service Charge. Thus, the amount that a user's provider keeps is the Service Charge less any excess, which is paid directly to the user. You have confirmed that your company receives all the benefit from the 0845 number in kind, and therefore that there is no excess. This isn't of interest to me; your company is benefitting from the 0845 number and how it happens is irrelevant. I don't particularly object to it doing so; what I believe is that it should declare the fact and as Ofcom has proposed it should do (in the form of the Service Charge).

The fact that, for a surcharge of 1.5 pence per minute, some telephone companies charge an Access Fee of around 38 pence per minute shows how innefficient such a transaction is. Again, the Ofcom proposals are that originating call providers will have to declare their Access Charge. This will hopefully bring these excessive charges down.

If your company does not receive any benefit from the use of the 0845 number, then that is even worse than receiving revenue, if indeed receiving revenue is regarded as "bad".

All calls to 0845 numbers incur a surcharge on their termination rate of around 1.5 pence per minute and any user which does not derive an appropriate benefit is therefore gifting this money to their provider on an unearned basis.

This is why users of 0845 numbers should declare the Service Charge. If they wish this to be gifted to their provider, then that is a matter for them. The fact is that this money is flowing from callers (via their providers) and should declared. We wouldn't have it if a shop put products on its shelves without declaring the cost, so why should phone calls be any different?

The non-geographic number range where no benefit is derived from callers (via their providers) is 03. If Bright Assessing wishes to take no benefit from its callers, but doesn't wish to publish the 01789 number, then why does it not use a 03 number?

That'll be whois and if you have no idea what the whois service is, then you shouldn't be online. False information in your whois records can lead to the domain name being taken offline so you should take steps to make sure the registration information is 100% correct.

We have nothing to hide and everything to be proud of!!!!

Hi ladies and gents,

Thanks for representing me on this issue, i thought people should know what absolute rubbish Bright Assessing's basic customer service is. I was about to sign up for this course, i had a day off work and travelled from Lincolnshire in March to Worcester for a careers fair, was fairly impressed with what i was told, had a series of emails with one particular female, i asked if she could phone as a last option, just so i could put a voice to a name and seek further reassurances about the course and my ability to undertake it, before i took the plunge, arranged a time and date - no phone call. This happened a number of times, various excuses were given, i eventually sent a terse email and was promptly ignored, this from a so-called Company Training Specialist. I then called and spoke to another woman and i insisted on speaking to the MD, a certain Krissy from above, the woman implied that Krissy was busy but she made an appointment for her to call me the next day, ( a Friday), between 12pm and 2pm before i set off for an afternoon shift at work. Guess what? Krissy didn't call and quite annoyed i called the same woman i had spoken to at about 2-30 pm, she apologised but intimated that Krissy had been in a meeting and must have forgotten to call me. She made a note for Krissy to call me the following week. Guess what? Krissy didn't call all week again. I left it til the following Monday and again she apologised and said they'd had some upheaval as they'd moved offices, load of crap again. The lady on the phone said she'd get someone else to contact me, a 3rd person. This happened, and in fact was the same woman i spoke to at the careers fair so i thought things would be resolved, after a couple of emails i asked if she could call at a particular time on a Monday, guess what? No acknowledgement of my email and no further correspondence anymore including newsletters that they sent regularly. I emailed asking what the excuse was, no reply. My final email sort of offered an olive branch by asking for an honest answer as to what has been going on, again no reply.
All this from a company whom i was prepared to part money with for their so-called first class training. They cannot even do basic customer service, rude, ignorant, arrogant are all words to describe this company, i advise people to avoid, but in Krissy's words they have nothing to hide from.

I have undertaken a course with Bright and I disagree with Linscloon. I have found Bright assessing customer service is far from rubbish. Krissy Charles Jones is the CEO so I doubt that she would be the person who would contact customers directly. My dealings with them have been very good in answering all my questions, I have also had a really good mentor who has been supportive and after I finished the course Mike in customer services did my CV for me and helped me find a job which I have now started. The only thing is the 0845 number but there is a 0330 number as well now and I just use the land line number.
