Plymouth Hospitals NHS Trust - Appointments
Jun 27th, 2012 at 4:23pm

Has anyone an alternative no for Derriford Hospital, Plymouth, Devon, whose current switchboard no is 0845 155 8155? If you have to make an appt you are asked to ring this no by your GP. One way round it is to use an old direct dial no for a dept you have had contact with before, say miscall & ask to be put back to the main switchboard & connected to the dept you want. Having worked in the NHS I know every dept has a direct dial in/out no, the trick is finding what it is.

Hello and welcome to SayNoTo0870.

There is one verified entry in the database relevant to this organisation:

Plymouth Hospitals NHS Trust             0845 155 8155       01752 202082             Derriford Hospital

There is also a unverified entry:

Plymouth Hospital Trust             0845 155 8298       01752 202082

These two highlighted numbers are given on the Trust's contact page, although this in no way absolves it of its breach of the Directions.

In December 2009, the Department of Health directed NHS bodies to get rid of premium rate 084 numbers. This followed an earlier directive, in 2005, to get rid of 087 and 09 numbers.

Almost seven years later, Plymouth Hospitals NHS Trust has decided to comply. From 1 October 2016, they will change to geographic 01 numbers.
