Call Alert Partnership
Jul 3rd, 2012 at 10:17pm

Does anyone have any numbers to try and contact -
The Call Alert Partnership, who are at - PO BOX 171, Chester Le Street, County Durham, DH2 1WX.
They have these numbers on their site -
Sales:  0871 2344200 (Mon to Sun)
General:  0871 2342828 (Mon to Sun)
Fax:  0871 2342929
www.callalert.co.uk
I want to try and call them to get some information about buying one of their monitoring systems for my father-in-law, but am reluctant to call 0871 particularly from my mobile during the day!
I have googled and searched BT and 192 and Yell with no joy. Any help appreciated, thanks.

Good Afternoon kaydee,

Thanks for providing so much info, it was actually very helpful.

Sadly I have not found a 01/02/03 number, but after a search I found http://www.tuugo.co.uk/Companies/call-alert/0300003296566 who advise of a FreePhone (from landline or payphone) Number of: 0800 408 0427

I am aware of services that allow you to call a standard 01/02 number and that then allows you to call the 0800 number for no extra cost.

Otherwise if you have access to a landline it's worth calling.

Please let us know how you get on, and if you DO use their services I might suggest raising a legitimate complaint over the use of this number.

Smiley

Thanks a lot.
I must admit I gave up after 9 or 10 pages on Google, and I was only searching for Call Alert - without adding monitoring and County Durham.
I'll give that one a try tomorrow - I have a number for 0800 Buster for using on my mobile so I can call 0800 numbers within my bundled minutes. Recommended!

Sadly it's not looking good!
I've tried a couple of times now.
It starts quite optimistically, when you get an answer saying 'Please hold for the next available operator' you think it's OK. After a while you get the same message repeated. After another wait you get a click and then a high pitch shrill tone - which could be a fax tone.
I will try later, but not looking good.
Any further ideas? Huh

Oh Dear,

That is not looking good,

my only other suggestion is to ask them to call you;

kaydee, are these the only people in your area who provide this service?   Often, local councils will provide it or have an approved contractor whom they use, another alternative might be to contact Age UK.  I must confess that when I see a company offering this kind of service on a premium rate number like 0871, I tend to judge that their attitude to customer service generally will be very poor, such as "charge as much as you can, provide as bad/cheap a service as you can", it really might be worth looking for another provider, there are many others offering call system services.

This afternoon I tried the 0800 number from a landline, got the same message but then did get a lady who was very unhelpful, all she would tell me was that her number was not 0800 408 0427 and she was not Call Alert!
Barbara,
Thanks for that, we actually used this firm for a system for my mother in Lancashire, their price is very keen and the service (so far, 6 months) has been good, much better priced than most alternatives. This one is for Father-in-Law in Cheshire - local councils not interested as he has the misfortune to have saved over £23K in his 84 years! Need to speak to Call Alert about a couple of the finer points in his contract!
