Prudential Home Insurance Legal Helpline

I'm looking for Prudential Home Insurance Legal Helpline 0845 605 9268. The postal address given is 1 Cathedral Square, Bristol BS1 5DL but I don't know if this is the actual location of the helpline staff or just a maildrop. The insurance is said to be provided by Churchill and Direct Line also seems to be part of the group of related companies. So I'm wondering if the helpline is shared with the sister companies and may have a common geographical number with them.

Hi, I've just googled the postcode and it came up with Direct Line and a phone number of 0117 945 2468 at the same address. Might be worth giving the number a try and seeing if it's the same lot who do share or if you can persuade them to give you the correct number or transfer you. Can you please report back as to whether it works or not and any other useful information you gather. Thanks. (PS It also mentioned the info was from thelocalweb.net if this works might be worth trying using postcode for other organisations)

I haven't checked out the voice number you unearthed. However I have had success with a fax number. Prudential publicise this as 0845 878 1914 (direct fax for Legal Helpline). I have faxed them at
0117 984 6914
This has worked insofar as it resulted in my enquiry to the Legal Helpline being accepted and getting a helpful response. I suspect 0117 984 6914 is a central respository for faxes to Prudential at the Bristol address rather than Legal dept specific.

joli, following your posting I had a look at the entries for Direct Line. We now have verified entries for motor, home, pet and other types of insurance.

The main IVR (menu) for home insurance can be reached on 0141 349 0270 and 0800 051 1417.

Legal enquiries don't form part of the Direct Line IVRs. There are options for claims, customer services, renewals, quotations and so on.

The number you provided for that department of Prudential Insurance, 0845 605 9268, goes straight through to a recording which identifies it as "The Legal Department". The voice isn't the same as that of Direct Line's IVRs, so this leads me to think that it goes straight through to an outside company such as a law firm. Therefore, in order to find a suitable alternative, we need to find out what company it is, or what companies answer the number if there is more than one of them.

It is unfortunate that the Direct Line IVRs don't have an option for legal advice, as these (using the alternatives, of course) may have gone through to the same place as this 0845 number.
