The number suggested by sherbert is listed in our database as an alternative for a number of 0871 numbers operated by AutoProtect.

I have just tidied up the entries as some had only 0870 numbers in, which now have redirection messages to 0871 numbers.

If the 0871 number you have is not listed, then please let us know what it is so we can list it in the database. This site is all about users contributing with any information, including 08 numbers. Similarly, if you notice any entries that need attention such as unverified numbers that work or any that don't work (say why, e.g. not recognised, always busy etc) then please post in the forum. This helps others who use the site by weeding out the duff numbers and promoting the good ones.

Alternative number for Car2Cover

I took out some smart repair and alloy wheel insurance but I didn't realise the company claim line is an 0871 number!

I need to make a claim and was wondering if anyone had a standard number for these guys:

Car2Cover (Also known as Click2Protect)
0871 384 9931

Their address on the policy doc is:
Auto Protect MBI Ltd.
Cambridge House
Harlow
Essex
CM202EQ

Confusingly they have a different address for cancellations:

Click2Protect
Business & Technology Centre
Bessemer Drive
Stevenage
Hertfordshire
SG1 2DX.

We looked at the company for which you are seeking an alternative only a couple of weeks ago, and I have joined your posting to that thread.

click2protect trade as car2cover. It is an independent on-line insurance broker specialising in supplementary motor insurance products. This is explained on the About Us page (right at the top in fact).

The policy document (PDF) states that the Administrator is Auto Protect MBI Ltd and that it is the Administrator that you need to report any claims to.

A search of the database returns the entries I amended (see above), and all give the alternative 01279 457900. Like many other companies, this one uses different 08 numbers for publication in different places, but it is likely that one alternative will do for all.

What I can't understand is how come you agreed to a contract which causes confusion. Huh
