There is a very straightforward way to:
1. File a FOI request with any agency online.
2. Track the FOI request online, at the
What Do They Know? website.
3. Continue with the FOI request after a refusal by filing a complaint (online) for an internal review.
4. Guidance and support from website's volunteer staff should one have questions.
5. File a complaint with the
Information Commissioner's Office if the internal review complaint is refused.
The FOI requests and entire process is available online and searchable online (via search engines). Anyone can follow a request and receive updates via email.
I've personally used this and with email assistance from the What Do They Know staff, have successfully filed a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office. That complaint is in the final process of receiving a decision.
Highly recommend using the
What Do They Know? for filing FOI requests.
One can also brows and search all FOIs filed at the website.
