Post Office Homephone only dont have a minimum term unlike like most other suppliers.

They also dont penalise you if you dont wish to pay by d/d.

They have changed their website Dave so its not as clear as it was but it still say,s

"Switching is easy

It’s really easy to transfer your phone to us. There’s no minimum contract"

If i recall correctly they like you to give them 15 days notice.

I can only find a minimum term in relation to the Broadband Service

"Our Agreement with you will continue until you or we
terminate it in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.
If you subscribe to Post Office® Broadband, you commit to a
minimum term of 12 months from the date we first provide
Post Office® Broadband to you at a particular address
(“Minimum Broadband Term”). See Part 3 (For Post
Office® Broadband Customers) for further details."

Instead of trying to catch me out  Smiley

Have a look at the Code Of Practice. Section 3.

"There is no minimum
agreement term and customers can cancel the
Post Office HomePhone® service at any time by providing
15 calendar days notice to the Post Offi ce® that they
would like to terminate their service."

Handy therefore for people on short term tenancies who want phone only.

People could of course  also use them to get a cheaper new line connection  and move to another phone/broadband supplier without penalty. Shocked  As they only normally  charge £60 for a new line connection.

But i now see they say " If you cancel Post Office HomePhone within six months of any New Line Provision, we may charge you a cancellation fee of £15 to
cover our reasonable costs".

But would they not incur a high charge for connection and activation of the line?

Would it not be the case that unless the previous tennant and new tennant get together to hand over the service without ceasing it (assuming this is possible in practice!), then surely a connection charge would apply?
