I am trying to find a number for my pensioner mum who uses her local doctors surgery quite a lot and it would appear that there is only a 0844 number to ring for appointments. The address is Ash Grove medical center, Englands Lane, Knottingley,WF11 0JA. Thank you.

As mainbass says, there's is information elsewhere on the site about finding alternatives to these surgery systems. There is a sticky at the top of the Requests section: Tips for finding a doctor's surgery number.

All I've done is what I set out in the guide.

Firstly, the surgery's website says that the Practice Manager's name is Michael Hart.

I then typed into Google "michael hart" 01977. The first entry says that Mr Hart's direct number is 01977 622103. The surgery's own leaflet gives the prescription order line as 01977 622104 which is the number after Mr Hart's number. I said in the guide that these are the clues to look for.

622109 is the settings menu for the system, which tells us that we may be getting warm... I suggest that the number we are looking for could be somewhere from 622100 to 622108, excluding 622103 and 622104, as they are already accounted for.

62211x numbers are not recognised, and so too are 62209x ones. Perhaps they have another block somewhere else.
