Lacking some basic information.  Roll Eyes

Yes we know who Vodafone are, but which department is the 0870 for? Are you saying that the previous number was a geographical one and has been discontinued?

Do the numbers in the database on this site not get you there?

yes thats what I'm saying Vodafone now has a non-geographical number. The new number I quoted was the number sent to me in an email for their Customer Care Team

A misnomer if ever there was one.

'Customer Don't Care Team' would be more approproiate if they've now changed to a rip-off 0870 number.

I got caught by the non-service too - Voda 'change number line' of 0870 160 3020 - nothing comes up with SNT0 search. P

The geographic number that I used for Vodafone last week still seems to be working at the moment.  That is 01635 689210 however they were less than helpful when I did phone them and tried to get me to phone an 0870 number.

Thanks Geranium. I'm sure if enough people complain at their 0870 number, hopefully the'll do something about it!

The number we had for Vodafone Customer sevices (01635 687423) is no longer valid, and a couple more besides that are also not working.   Undecided

Has anyone got new numbers to access them please. The Customer sevices NGN is 08700 700 191

I have the following numbers for Vodafone - I haven't tried any, maybe you'd like to try [the good news that they are all freephone numbers]:

0500 123123, 0500 505506

0800 242242, 0800 435720, 0800 443377,
0800 501500, 0800 525116, 0800 535535, 0800 555453
0800 101 1125

I think 0800 501500 might be their HQ.

I tried some of the above numbers but they all appear to bvelong to specialised business units.

The Vodafone site gives no useful geographical number, but in the small print for PAYG customers is a Voda-style number 07836 19 19 19 'for customers calling from overseas'

Whilst this is not free, many users will have X-net bundled minutes on other accounts that can be employed for a customer service enquiry more cheaply than Voda's 0870 rate.

07836 1xxxxx numbers are charged at (would you believe) 'National Rate' (i.e. the same as 0870 numbers) by BT. Sad

But surely this is another example of the confusion which now reigns? Where is there any official provision in the current numbering system (supposed to be the New Numbering System which is not being enforced by Ofcom) for any number designated a "National Rate" number in the category beginning "07"? I have not been able to find any!

I note that this thread did not end in a satisfactory conclusion.

I have found that the geographical number 01635 332 51 (an unusual BT 10 digit number) does work as at 1 June 2005.

Perhaps the database ought to show this only.
