RailEasy premium rate number
Apr 1st, 2013 at 7:53am

Gentle warning for those tempted to use Rail Easy's premium rate number - 0906 2000 500: DON'T!!!

My wife spent 10 minutes talking to "a very nice man"  at Rail Easy recently which cost us £10 on our phone bill  - all becasue their website was down. No warning that she had dialled a premium rate number nor the cost. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!

p.s. anyone know of a geographic number for Rail Easy enquiries which actually works??

Are you trying to tell us you or your wife were not aware that numbers starting 09 are premium rate and are charged accordingly.

An alternative geographical number is shown on this site
020 8989 3437  and is working.

Gentle warning for those wanting to call Rail Easy to book tickets, if not able online. DON'T!!!!
Their call # 0906 2000 500 is a premium rate number and costs a whopping £1.02 per minute. My wife inadvertently and unknowingly used this number twice and we ended up with a bill for nearly £10 for less than 10 minutes talking to "a very nice man"!!!! BEWARE!

As per bigjohn's posting, all those beginning 09 are Premium Rate Service numbers. Charges vary in price by prefix.

Try the number 020 8989 3437 listed in the database (which I have updated with the 0906 number). It is presently unverified so we would like feedback as to its effectiveness.
