Following the fine for mis-selling, SSE has set-up a special number for customers who feel that they may have been victims. It is a freephone number which costs a premium to ring from mobiles and it is 0800 975 3341.

I am at the early stages of looking for an alternative to this.

What company names has SSE used or been formed from in the past? For example, I believe that SWALEC is one. The reason for asking this is because there may be entries in our database and discussion in the forum which only refer to these names and I would like to find them.

I have spoken to the Sales Guarantee team which is investigating mis-selling. There is no alternative, but they will ring people back who are calling from mobiles, if requested.

Or Customer services will put callers through to the Sales Guarantee team. There may be a wait before getting through to Customer Services which can be reached via the main SSE switchboard/IVR number 01738 456000.
