Hi, I wonder if anyone has an alternative for this number we've been given for the above: 08000 727272?   I can't find anything in the database as the alternatives there seem specific to others like Lloyds TSB.   Obviously the most likely time we might need this is when we're out so would only have a mobile to use.   I'm afraid I don't have any other contact details as this is all there is on the card.   I do understand about using a dial through if no one has an alternative.   Thank you.

Unless we find an alternative published specifically for the Citroen number, 0800 072 7272, then I think that sherbert's suggestion might be the best. We are assuming that the number goes through to the AA breakdown call centre. The 0121 number is published by the AA as an alternative to its breakdown number, 0800 887766.

As ever, there is no guarantee that an alternative number will still work when it comes to be used, and in the case of call-out for emergency breakdown it would be advisable to always carry the published 0800 numbers just in case the alternative does not work.


However, at the end of Citroen Accident Assistance, Accident management scheme - Terms & Conditions (PDF), under the heading "Comments & Complaints" it says:

So are calls answered by the AA or Ai Claims Solutions or another company?

Thank you both very much for your help, I will carry the 01 number as well as the 0800; I don't think it's necessarily the accident  assist, it's just basic breakdown cover which came with the car (only collected it this morning), we have got our own breakdown cover anyway with Britannia Rescue, this was just a backup as it was free & it does have a number of exclusions which Britannia doesn't.
