BBC You and Yours - telephone billing errors

We have been approached by BBC You and Yours asking for cases of people having been overcharged for telecoms services.

An item on the topic of consumer overcharging will be broadcast later this week.

It is clearly understood that the topic of the item is NOT UNFAIR CHARGES, where the charge is perhaps inappropriate (e.g. a 0844 number used by a GP), unexpected (e.g. a price increase during what was thought to be a fixed term contract) or badly described (e.g. most call charges).

I cannot say for certain that You and Yours has its priorities badly wrong and await its possible revelations of a major problem that has escaped our notice, with interest.

If readers with stories to contribute wish to contact You and Yours through the fair telecoms campaign, we will be delighted to pass information on to the relevant personnel.
