nuisance calls (Read 5,473 times)

lincoln Newbie Offline Posts: 1 Gender:	nuisance calls Oct 25^th, 2013 at 10:46am The number 0279760439 calls me and when answered there is nobody there. When the number is called back the answer is 'the number you have dialled has not been recognized' has anybody experienced this?

Ian G Senior Member Offline Posts: 276 Gender:	Re: nuisance calls Reply #1 - Oct 25^th, 2013 at 10:59am If it's a genuine number, then there is a digit missing. The most likely numbers are 020 7976 0439 or 01279 760439, or possibly 028 7976 0439. It's even more likely that it's just a fake number.

Assuming you've typed it as it was presented on your caller display, it's a fake CLI (calling line identity) as there are no numbers beginning 027 in the UK.

Unfortunatly these SPAM telephone calls are becoming too regular. When I answer a call that I am not familiar with the number I never identify myself and if they say the call is of a sensitive nature I say they have the wrong number request that they take my details off their call list and not to call again.

They probably don't take any notice, but at least they has an unsuccessful call.
