I am looking for a geographical alternative to the Daily Telegraph shopping offers please: 0844 249 8096which is charged at 5p per minute!
The question here must be, as CJT-80 says, which company operates the number? Different reader offers for a particular publication can be operated by different companies. Does it not state on the advertisement what company it is?
The cost of calling the number is 5.105 pence per minute plus a Call Set-up fee of 13.87 pence or 15 pence from a BT line.
A Google of the 0844 number returns
this product page on the Telegraph Shop website.
It doesn't identify the manufacturer or supplier. However, it's often the case that the wording of product descriptions is that supplied by the manufacturer, and therefore all retailers that list a particular product use the same wording.
With that in mind I entered a sentence from the description into Google:
Now thanks to this range of special daylight lamps, you can enjoy that same clean bright natural sunlight effect all year round.
This returns a number of pages from retailers selling the same product. A few are as follows:
I think we get the idea - the item appears to be supplied by Clifford James which is a part of
BVG-Airflo Group Limited.
Type
bvg
into the Company Name box of our
search engine for some numbers for this company (you will probably have to explain that you are calling about the Telegraph Reader Offer as they may assume you are placing an order as a customer of Clifford James, which might cost more).
