Job Centre refused to let me use phones
Jan 17th, 2014 at 2:34pm

Hi,

I'm currently on ESA and quite vulnerable, I recently tried to use the phones at my local job centre to enquire about the existing claim I have. I was refused because I told them I have a telephone at home.

I am going to make a complaint that they are denying me access to a public service by forcing me to incur a debt to gain access to it and was threatened by security guards thers. I wondered what your thoughts are on this. I understand government departments have been strongly discouraged from using these revenue sharing numbers but I've never heard of someone being denied access at the job centre.

Having dealt with the Department for Work and Pensions before I would complain about it.. and go up as high as you can with the complaint..

Here's where to start: https://www.gov.uk/complain-jobcentre-plus
