Barclays unaware of chnge
Jun 12th, 2014 at 10:20pm

Barclays have just sent out an email.

"This is a reminder about the temporary system access restrictions to Barclays Direct accounts this weekend, from 11pm on Friday 13 June, until 7am on Monday 16 June 2014.

During this time you won’t be able to access your Barclays Direct accounts, online or over the telephone. However, you can be assured that any credits received into your account during this weekend will be processed as usual.

This restriction is necessary because, as part of the move to Barclays, we are transferring some customers' accounts over to Barclays main systems this weekend.

We’re sorry for any inconvenience this temporary restriction may cause, but it is a necessary precaution to ensure customers details are transferred safely.

If you have any questions about this, please call us on 0845 603 8888* or if you have a business savings account, then please call us on 0845 848 0189* and we will do all we can to help. "

"*For BT residential customers, calls will cost no more than 4.5p per minute, plus 15p call set-up fee (current at April 2014). The price on Non-BT phone lines may be different. "

They are Barclays Direct ( Ing Direct ) numbers an alternative calling from overseas number is offered.

http://www.ingdirect.co.uk/home/contactus.asp

Barclays proper main customer service number is 0845 7555 555 and the bank although they are not required to do so yet are aware that customers would like to call a better number, and plan to introduce a 0345 number 0345 7555 555 ,which although not advertised is already working. Wink

Hotels are covered.  Those numbers are in breach of the regulations.
