SSE Stopped From Running New MVNO
Jul 5th, 2014 at 5:13am

Scottish Southern Energy (SSE) has been forced to ditch its MVNO plans with O2.

The move follows an Ofgem ruling preventing energy providers offering more than five tariffs, which has impacted on SSE’s ability to provide mobile tariffs.

I thought Ofgem's limit on number of tariffs applied to energy tariffs therefore didn't think it would apply to tariffs from telecom industry.

I am surprised.

I also thought it was an odd reason and it appears that there is more to it then meets the eye .

See this recent article .  http://www.theregister.co.uk/2014/07/07/scottish_and_southern_electric_bin_25m_i...

Reading that article, we were right.

Either Mobile got the story wrong or SSE told Mobile incorrect information.

I'm wondering whether SSE realised they may not be able to guarantee minimum number of minutes that O2 were hoping for but then surely they could have just turned to EE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
