This particular outfit might have an unpublished 01x number if memory serves me correctly, but their attitude seems to speak volumes...
Complaints to Trading Standards (non-compliance with the CCR) & the ASA (non-compliance with the service charge) being drafted now.
Hello,
That may be the case, but there are some problems with this kind of response..
1) It's hardly good customer service to discourage people from calling you by having a number which charges ontop of standard-rate.
2) It's against Consumer regulations to do this where existing contracts are concerned.
3) If you will insist on using one, it's against Ofcom regulations to not state your service charge.
On point (1) alone I'm not sure I want to purchase from yourself anymore, or recommend you to one of my customers that I was about to do. On points 2 & 3, perhaps I should have a conversation with the regulatory authorities and see what they think of your non-compliance.

Hi,
I notice from your website that your phone number is an 0844 one, yet you don't quote what the service charge is (as per new Ofcom rules effective July 1st).
This does put me off purchasing from you, but that aside - could you advise what your service charge is - and maybe even see fit to update your website?
