Ofcom has launched an online mobile coverage checker that allows consumers to compare the quality of mobile operator’s coverage across the UK.

An interactive map allows users to assess the reliability of coverage down to 100 square metres through a colour coded system. It was developed using data from the four mobile network operators and from Ofcom’s own network tests.

The regulator said that the coverage checker would be consistently updated based on consumer feedback, further testing from the regulator and mobile operator information.
