Lebara Mobile Using 0870.
Feb 9th, 2016 at 7:11pm

I notice that Lebara continue to use a 0870 number for Customer Service.

They do supply a short code for mobile user,s and a geographical number for callers from outside UK.But not a lot of good if you have lost your mobile,or you need to call them from a UK landline.

Well over a year has passed since the Consumer Contracts Regulations outlawed the use of such numbers for customer service purposes. Surprised that they are allowed to continue to getaway with it.

Breaches of the regulations can be reported to Trading Standards via the Citizen's Advice national Consumer Helpline on 0345 404 0506.

Presumably, no Lebara customers have bothered to make a complaint.

Numerous other landline and mobile providers are non-compliant.

The regulations are in place, but it needs a complaint to kick the process off.

The Lebara Mobile contact page, is very bad as well...

Lets take a few examples:

Out of the UK
If calling from abroad, please ring:
+44 (0207) 031-0791
Good Luck ringing that number from outside the UK.... it won't work... it should be +44 20 7031 0791 (which IS the format further down).

Now lets look at the 0870 number which appears 3 times on that page:

Customer services from a fixed line or other mobile phones - 0870 075 5588 - Standard service provider rates - No they don't.. it's 2p per minute plus the access charge as noted elsewhere on that page!

And lastly:
Voicemail from a fixed line      +447836121121. Calls charged at your service providers national rate .... How did they work that one out?  Surely it's charged at a rate set by your landline provider?  Huh

Not only am I raising a complaint regarding the continued use of the 0870 number but also about their conflicting information!  Sad
