Does anyone have an 0870 alt for this co? They are based in Spain, sell wine to UK and provide only a Spanish and 0870 no. Thanks.
Good Afternoon
twyfry welcome to SayNoTo0870.com.
Their contact page
here contains the 0870 and 00 34 numbers, as well as an e-mail.
As the company is based in Spain they are unlikely to have an 01/02 number. Their 0870 number was probably provided as they felt it was cheaper to call than 00 34 (Spain) per minute.
However as they sell to the United Kingdom they are probably bound by the The Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013
Quote:Help-line charges over basic rate
41.—(1) Where a trader operates a telephone line for the purpose of consumers contacting the trader by telephone in relation to contracts entered into with the trader, a consumer contacting the trader must not be bound to pay more than the basic rate.
(2) If in those circumstances a consumer who contacts a trader in relation to a contract is bound to pay more than the basic rate, the contract is to be treated as providing for the trader to pay to the consumer any amount by which the charge paid by the consumer for the call is more than the basic rate.
Point 2 indicates if you call the 0870 number you may be entitled to a refund of the difference based on the cost of calling an 01/02 number as opposed to the 0870 number, per minute.
As they provide an e-mail address that maybe your 1st point of contact.
Would also be a good idea to investigate how much per minuite it would cost you to call the 0870 number from your Mobile and Landline and quote BOTH prices to them in your e-mail.
Please let us know how you get along.
